Presentation the documentary "the recovery of the traditional irrigation channel in Lugros"

MEMOLA project will present the documentary "the recovery of the historical irrigation channels of Lugros" to the local community.

Opening exhibition "Humanities in action"

Opening of exhibition "Humanities in action. The recovery of Sierra Nevada historical irrigation systems ".

Through a series of photographs, the exposition shows the work developed for the recovery and put into use of traditional irrigation systems in Sierra Nevada, by the irrigators communities and volunteers working within the MEMOLA project.

The recovery techniques were carried out following traditional means and practices, and involving different ONGs, associations and stakeholders. You can visit the exhibition at the Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy (UGR), until December 22, 2016.

UGR participated at a Workshop in Ávila

J. Mª Martín Civantos, MEMOLA coordinator, presented "Landscapes, a common place to get involved. An archaeological perspective from the MEMOLA project" at the workshop "Egaging stakeholders in oppida heritage: challenges and possibilities" organised by "Resituating Europe's first towns: A case study in enhancing knowledge transfer and developing sustainable management of cultural landscapes (REFIT)" 

UGR participated at the seminar in Granada

The University of Granada participated in the seminar about the conservation of the traditional irrigation channel. J.Mª Martín Civantos and L. Delgado Anés will present the experience of MEMOLA project in the recovery of the traditionals irrigations channels

The Archaeological Experience Day starts

Archaeological Experience Day. Yesterday we started the participatory activity in the archaeological excavation with the Local Women Association Vista Alegre (Lanteira,Granada).

MEMOLA takes part in the XIV Congress of the European Society for Agronomy

UCO and UGR took part in the XIV Congress of the European Society for Agronomy, focused on Growing Landscapes – Cultivating innovative agricultural systems, held this year in Edinburg from the 5th to the 9th of September.

Specifically, they presented a poster titled Potential impacts of Water Framework Directive on the enviromental services associated with historical irrigation systems: a case study from Southern Spain in "Session 8: Landscape management for food and ecosystem services".

Yesterday the University of Granada and Arqueoandalusi participated in the summer course "to revalue the historical irrigation systems as part of our future" by International University of Andalucia.
